A bit of wet weather
Rode to Mildura for the weekend.
The weather forecast varied between wet at the start and dry at the end to dry at the start and wet at the end. All from the "Weather Bureau" and other sources. What should I do? Skip the bike and take the train/bus? No, I have the X suit! Now don't ask me what X stands for, but it means that it's a one piece waterproof suit. From the details on the suit I have no idea what it style it is, but it is made BMW, albeit, "Made in China" and 100% nylon.
I had purchased the suit from BMW with the prospect of using it one day, but not when I bought it, as I was too heavy. The suit is labelled XXXL! I have lost enough weight to actually fit into it with a bit of a struggle.
Left on Friday and encountered wet weather around Bendigo which went all the way to Mildura. Stopped, put on the suit and just kept riding with complete contempt for the conditions. The suit worked perfectly: I arrived completely dry and warm.
On the way back I had to stop under a bridge near Kyneton and put on the magic suit. Once again the same results. Mind you once I cleared Mount Macedon I never saw rain again. However, I was dry and warm. The extra layer helps with the cold. I arrived home both dry and warm.
What a great investment! This is the driest/warmest I have ever been in the rain.
