Bruthen Blues (June 2001)

Rode to Bruthen on the motorbike with my electric lap-steel guitar strapped to the pillion seat. I rode there with Graeme Mathison and his son and we made a day of it. A most relaxing day. I was invited to play, so I did. My intention was to play in the rhythm section, but oh no, no getting away with that. I had to pick the songs, sing the songs and play lap-steel. It was fun and the experience stretched me musically so that was good.

Bruna, the manager of the Bruthen Inn offered me an acoustic gig on the 15th which I accepted. Really looking forward to playing the gig as I really don't do enough acoustic sets
