Callignee Market - October 2003

It's been ten years since I last played the Callignee Market and that's because the Market stopped. When I was approached by the organising commitee a few months ago if I'd I'd like to play at their first market since then, I quickly replied in the affirmative.

The 8:30 am start ceratainly had me working hard. The weather forecast was for rain in the afternoon, but that didn't stop a shower coming through a bit after 9:30. I covered the gear and waited. The rain stopped and I started again, only to have to stop at 11:00. I guess that was all right, as I'd covered my shift and half of the next shift.

The market still has a good feel about it and that old Oak tree is still towering over me, less the children that used to climb it and sing along with me. Still, they are adults now :)

I owe a lot to the market, as that was where I developed by solo act after finishing up with Pyramid. The market organisers were learning how to put a market together and I was learning how to play solo. I think we both did pretty well.
