Great Victorian Camp Oven Festival
Heyfield Show 2009

As usual, I slept in and arrived right on the start time. The rest of the Country Club troupe were becoming a little nervous.

We took it in turns to perform from Midday to 4:00 pm. The line up was , Lyndsay and Gail Hammond, Francie Waite, Ron Nunn, Bob Cooper, Maddison and last and definetely not least , me. I played bass for everyone else and for a change, for my set, played Acoustic Lap Steel using the De Gruchy.

We had to stop every now and then for 'fun' events, like:

Unseasonably warm today, nearly in the thirties. Everyone tried to stay as cool as they could and drank plenty of water.

During my set the wind starting building with lots of things flying around including bricks and chopped wood from the top of the semi-trailer we were performing in. As I left, within a few minutes, the rain from a thunderstorm struck. Glad I wasn't onstage performing and have some pity for Lee Forster and his band who had just started their first set, but, most of all, for the sound-man, Owen. All that electrical gear.

Big thanks to Owen, great job.
