Finally ...

Chris Hoy contacted me and asked me if I was interested in being part a non-performing band. The idea is just to get together and play.

Very attractive, just what I've been waiting for. I've always thought the best part of being in a band is the rehearsal. Performing just doesn't do a lot for me.

The lineup is:

Chris gave me a CD with four songs to learn for our first night. Chris asked if I could do some vocals. Sure, no problem.

When I turn up for our first session I discover that I was the only vocalist! Oh oh! I rose to the situation and did a passing performance of the vocals as I remembered them when putting together chord charts.

This get together is quite fantastic. I really have been waiting for this for a very long time. No egos, very good performers and lots of fun. It really has been worth the wait.

Chris has a Roland MIDI pickup fitted to his guitar, so as well as playing guitar, he also plays organ, brass, string, you name it on the guitar. Lot's of possibilities here.

I can see my playing performance improving enormously out of this.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.
